Stepping Stones Lesson Two

2. Audio Practice

Listen to one line of the story, and then repeat it aloud. Follow the characters in the text as you listen--each character corresponds to one syllable. Practice until you can recite the line from memory. Then go on to the next line. Again, don't worry about the meaning for now.

中	天	石
zhōng	tiān	shí

九	月	九	日,
jiǔ	yuè	jiǔ	rì,

我	和	老	方	出	门,
wǒ	hé,	lǎo	fāng	chū	mén,

上	东	山。
shàng	dōng	shān。

下	了	车,
xià	le	chē,

我	们	向	东	走	了	二、	三	百	米,
wǒ	men	xiàng	dōng	zǒu	le	èr、	sān	bǎi	mǐ,

就	到	了	山	门	口。
jiù	dào	le	shān	mén	kǒu。

进	了	山	门,
jìn	le	shān	mén,

向	上	又	走	了	八、	九	里	路,
xiàng	shàng	yòu	zǒu	le	bā、	jiǔ	lǐ	lù,

我	们	就	到	了
wǒ	men	jiù	dào	le

东	山	的	最	高	点	"中	天	石"。
dōng	shān	de	zuì	gāo	diǎn	“zhōng	tiān	shí ” 。

Once you have memorized each line of the story, you are ready to go on to the next step.
