Stepping Stones Lesson Eight

2. Audio Practice

Listen to one line of the story, and then repeat it aloud. Follow the characters in the text as you listen--each character corresponds to one syllable. Practice until you can recite the line from memory. Then go on to the next line. Again, don't worry about the meaning for now.

叶	公	好	龙
Yè	Gōng	hào	lóng

从	前	有	个	人	叫	叶	公，
cóng	qián	yǒu	gè	rén	jiào	Yè	Gōng,

很	喜	欢	龙。
hěn	xǐ	huān	lóng.

他	家	里	到	处	都	画	着	龙。
tā	jiā	li	dào	chù	dōu	huà	zhe	lóng.

后	来，
Hòu	lái,

天	上	的	真	龙	听	说	了，
tiān	shàng	de	zhēn	long	tīng	shuō	le,

就	去	叶	公	家	看	他。
jiù	qù	Yè	Gōng	jia	kàn	tā.

真	龙	的	头	一	出	现	在	窗	口，
Zhēn	long	de	tóu	yì	chū	xiàn	zài	chuāng	kǒu，

叶	公	就	吓	得
Yè	Gōng	jiù	xià	de

面	如	土	色	不	会	动	了。
miàn	rú	tǔ	sè	bú	huì	dòng	le.

Once you have memorized each line of the story, you are ready to go on to the next step.
