Stepping Stones Lesson Four

2. Audio Practice

Listen to one line of the story, and then repeat it aloud. Follow the characters in the text as you listen--each character corresponds to one syllable. Practice until you can recite the line from memory. Then go on to the next line. Again, don't worry about the meaning for now.

愚	公	移	山
yú	gōng	yí	shān

愚	公	家	门	口
yú	gōng	jiā	mén	kǒu

有	两	座	大	山,
yǒu	liǎng	zuò	dà	shān,

方	圆	六	百	里,
fāng	yuán	liù	bǎi	lǐ,

进	出	很	不	方	便。
jìn	chū	hěn	bù	fāng	biàn.

他	决	定	把	山	挖	走。
tā	jué	dìng	bǎ	shān	wā	zǒu.

有	一	个	老	人	笑	愚	公，
yǒu	yí	gè	lǎo	rén	xiào	yú	gōng,

愚	公	说:

山	不	会	长	高，
shān	bú	huì	zhǎng	gāo,

总	会	有	挖	走	的	一	天。”
zǒng	huì	yǒu	wā	zǒu	de	yì	tiān."

天	上	的	神	听	了，
tiān	shàng	de	shén	tīng	le,

很	敬	重	愚	公，
hěn	jìng	zhòng	yú	gōng,

就	让	大	力	神
jiù	rang	dà	lì	shén

把	山	移	走	了。
bǎ	shān	yí	zǒu	le.
